Linden
Avenius Chardonnay
Pale yellow in the glass with lime zest, apple, white flowers and flint on the nose. Well balanced, sleek, with a refreshing acidity. Green apples, Asian pear, Marcona Almonds, apricot, and fall spices fill in the body. True Jim Law artistic style; I suspect little to no malo, mostly neutral oak but lots of sur lie aging give this wine plenty of character and texture!

Apr 30th, 2020Fresh, tart, good verve. Gold and gala apple, white peach, Asian pear, vanilla, oak, spring flowers. Picks up oak and weight over time.

1 person found it helpfulApr 13th, 2015Tension, purity, verve and filigree come to mind here and can only take the mind to one place for Chardonnay: Chablis. OK so now the mind is set in Chablis with style but then we take a different take on the finish that was crazy long and pure, dry extract on full display here as this hummed along nicely to the finish. Another amazing Chardonnay from Jim Law at Linden.

Jul 17th, 2016Ripe, silky, with stonefruit, ripe citrus and a tiny bit of popcorn. Still fresh. Terroir-specific and well made.

Oct 6th, 2015Amazing. Still fresh as a button. Driven by fuzzy peach and apricot fruit with chamomile and lemon citrus oil and pith. Outstanding effort!

Jan 8th, 2015Cabernet, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. Blackberry and black pepper with no under-ripeness. Secondary oak flavors integrate well with the smoky and earthy character. Not screaming, but fine-grained and harmonious.
