Côtes de Bordeaux Castillon Red Bordeaux Blend
Another bottle. Still great! Can’t think of a better house red. Freaking delicious for around $30. Has pedigree. Will go with a steak. Very serious wine but also worthy of a mindless 7pm Monday evening

1 person found it helpfulFeb 16th, 20202016 vintage. Missing the overt frontal palate richness evident in the 2017 and 2018 efforts but substitutes in the bretty leaness sweepstakes. Light-medium body. Great value but currently not an easy sell or for everyone. 7.10.24.

Jul 11th, 20242018 vintage. Last tasted 2.18.22. This is the (regrettably) last bottle. Honed and focused. Some (there wasn’t an overt amount to begin with) baby fat dropped. Transitioning to earth and minerals and, in doing so, adding depth. Medium body. Will be on the search for more. 6.11.24.

Jun 12th, 2024First vintage under the ownership of Le Pin. The nose starts off with abundant of blueberry, blackberry and cassis, and then turns to warm spices, black pepper, graphite, and hint of cigar box. Medium to full elegant body. Bitter sweet long finish.
Just entering its drinking window. Fantastic value.

Blind side by side with Petrus 2015 and this one was the winner. Of course this one is at peak and Petrus is way too young but it says everything about L’Hêtre. Respect
