Deep watermelon pink (but a bit pale for a Tavel). Inviting nose of stony raspberry. Palate is full-bodied (belied by the color) and layered with black raspberry, stone, and bitter black cranberry. Medium plus acidity and a long dark finish. An inexpensive intro to the premier rosé-only appellation. Full-bodied and ready for hearty summer and fall fare. A bit heavy for greens or white fish; more at home where you’d take a lighter red. Drink now through 2029.

Tasty? Sure, red berries galore, savory elements, fuller bodied, but shortish finish and I was hoping for more.

Blend of Grenache (48%), Cinsault (32%), Grenache Blanc (4%), Syrah (3%), Clairette (3%), Mourvèdre (3%), Carignan (3%), Picpoul (2%) and Bourboulac (2%). Beautiful deep fuchsia color. Aromas of red cherry/berry fruit, bramble vines and minerals. Bright red strawberry/cherry/raspberry fruit leads the palate with pleasant additions of citrus, minerals and watermelon. Nicely balanced acidity and bright/clean (and long) finish. Refreshing. Pleasant surprise.

#rose
This wine does not have much of a nose. But the palate has some lovely berry notes. It’s very easy-drinking and food-friendly. 8.2 out of 10.

Feel like Hemingway while drinking this go-to, slightly mineral, slightly spicy, slightly more rosé than rosé.
