Popped and poured; served slightly chilled and enjoyed with rabbit sausage and spätzle. The 2020 Poulsard pours, a pale limpid garnet with a translucent core. Medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing. Maraschino cherry, some horse blank blanket, dried Alpine herbs. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium- tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium length with a fun, juicy texture. You could probably hold but why? This is fun and delicious right now.

Rich ruby in color and palate to match ... violet candy, strawberry rhubarb pie, raspberry jam, mint and orange rind. So silky and deep for the grape.

Oct 8th, 2020Gorgeous color - a light crystal clear ruby moving towards orange on the rim. Like eating a handful of ripe fruit: cherries and strawberries with the delicate yet present tannins from their skins. Great juicy acid, surprisingly long. Poulsard is simply amazing.

This was so good. My local purveyor warned it was a little tight on opening so gave it a solid 3 hours in the decanter. Red fruit and chalk, some peppermint. Vibrant yet restrained.

Pop and pour. In the zone right now. Wild strawberry, tomato leaf, soft cinnamon, and a hint of funk on the nose. On the palate: lovely acidity, light-bodied in style, but paired very well with our vegetarian stuffed eggplant...more wild straberry, soft vegetal notes and soft, but nicely structured, tannin on the finish.
