Comte Lafon using biodynamic growing methods in the Macon. Easily one of the best values in not just white Burgundy, but in all of wine.

Dec 6th, 2016Comte Lafon is considered one of the top producers of Burgundy with most of their bottles selling for triple digits and four digits for their top wines. In the late nineties they ventured out of Burgundy proper (the Cote d'Or) and also setup shop in the southern Burgundy region of the Maconnais by purchasing a domaine there. The focus of the domaine is Chardonnay and they have bottlings from many different villages and vineyards. The vines are farmed Biodynamically (a practice that goes far beyond organic) and most of their wines see a limited amount of oak in order to let the vines express themselves. These are some of the best values you will find in white Burgundy and Chardonnay in general. Ever bottle I've tasted from them so far has been laced with beautiful minerality.
