I always thought this would cellar well, and for once I've proved myself to be right.
The nose is svelte with ripe cherries and white pepper. The palette reveals cold steel, maraschino cherries and Sirop du cassis. Tannins are striking and still need another 3 years to resolve. Acid structure is in perfect balance with the rest of the components. This is a wonderful GSM blend, tipping the scales at 14% abv. This still has loads of runway ahead of it. At $15, this is arguably one of the best wines I've had in this price bracket.

Deeply hued, robust, and concentrated. Roasted plums, black raspberries, olives, smoke, garrigue, savory spice, leather, underbrush, rocks. Rustic texture, lots inorganic earth components, slightly medicinal on the finish. A very complex and full bodied wine for the money.

This is a well-defined, well muscled bruiser for $19. The 95% Syrah and 5% grenache have concentration, structure, and depth to make this a go-to with grilled meats, stews, roasts, and similar carnal fiestas. Dark, with juicy acid and flavors of bacon, roasted beef, and black licorice. And just enough tannic grip to let you lay a few of these bargains down for the short term. Might go a bit longer. Total QPR steal.

Not many wines at $19 have this much game. Hits to all parts of the field -- balanced, concentrated, good structure. A tasty powerhouse with mouth-watering acid and a finish that insists on hanging around. Red and black fruit backed up with a mouthful of roasted meat. Can't imagine a more serious wine for a night of BBQ fun.

Flavour was light. Easy to drink. Enjoyable but expensive @ $18+
