More new oak than the Columbia Syrah. Tighter as well. Blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, black plum and blue fruit notes, loads of spice & baking spices, caramel & dark decayed florals. It's a little hot on alcohol for me. Finishes dry and edgier than their softer Columbia Valley Syrah. Like them both the same for their very different Syrah styles. Photos of; their tasting room which was a school until the early 1970's. L'Ecole translates from French to English as school. Tasting room antique hutch and the old school house blackboard in their private tasting room.

We had the 2011 on 11/3/23. A full bodied wine with tastes of plum, blackberry and spice. More fruit forward than the other Syrahs we had that night. Also, this drank well even on the third night
