Rioja Blanco Viura
Straw yellow tropical and citrus fruit aromas. On the palate, a bit off-dry, melon, pineapple and citrus flavors, with honey notes and lively acidity. Medium length finish. An ok $10 buck white. Prefer an Albariño. Drink now, no bottle age benefit. Tasting Sample.

Mar 17th, 2021What a great surprise on this 4 year old white wine from Rioja. Shows a great nose with nice complexity. Easy drinking and fruit forward.
Dry on the palate with medium plus acidity.
Showing citrus, limes, wild flowers, earth, vegetables, tropical fruits, pineapples and spices.
Good right out of the bottle, and gets earthier as it opens up. Good by itself or with food. I paired it with Brie cheese by the lake.
100% Viura.
12.5% alcohol by volume.
89 points.
$11.

Sep 25th, 2019This Rioja Blanco is 100% Viura. Light nose of baked quince and dried yellow flowers. Medium light bodied palate yields same with a hint of grapefruit zest. Medium acidity rounds it all out. A great white for complex and mildly spicy dishes. Paella would be a particular friend.

May 27th, 2020Total Wine purchase, this is probably one of the few wines i have purchased in a long time that was almost un- drinkable, poured most of the bottle out!

Oct 2nd, 2019Aroma of pineapple. Then taste is smooth, a little acidic, like under ripe pineapple. Maybe I’m not in the right mood to appreciate it. I’m sitting outside. The day has been too long. There’s too much noise on the street. The finish is just too tart for my taste. It’s keeping me from being able to relax. Maybe I’ll just smell it...
