Wanna hear something super cool and at the same time super nerdy that I’m hella proud of?

I’m not sure I’ve had a better Monday morning in my life. Beautiful site, even better people, and awesome wines. I was fortunate to taste through this excellent lineup:
• 2016 Sauvignon Blanc
• 2015 Firebelle
• 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon
• 2015 LMV Salon
• 2014 Dr Olmo
• 2014 Solari
The 2015 LMV Salon was my WOTM. While Cabernet Sauvignon (60%) dominates the composition, the Cabernet Franc (40%) dominates its aromatics.

Second wine at 150 Central Park. Super dark purplish ruby red. Only decanted for two hours but still has some smoothness with excellent structure. Dark nose with blueberries, sweet tobacco and minerality. Heavy tannins (8/10) and full bodied. Power house wine. Stunning structure with dark crushed rocks, blackberries, spices, cassis, herbs, and a little bit of blue fruit. Rich and long finish. Drink till 2045.

From mag at firm appreciation dinner. Bordeaux profile with lots of graphite, tobacco leaf and dark plum. Still brooding a bit.

Maybe it’s in a shut down phase or maybe my tastes have evolved but this wasn’t that great or my style at all. I remember loving this wine when it released. Even after 24 hours the fruit struggled to come forward. This was savory, leathery, earthy and gravelly. Medium bodied. Eh. It wasn’t bad, just nothing I would reach for again. I have a few more in the cellar so will revisit again in a year and see if it - or I - have changed.

Thank you @Daryl Calhoun for sharing this badass 2011 with me! Another incredible example of how 11 was a forgotten vintage!
I think all it needed was a little time and this was a phenomenal example.Badass in a glass. Balance, balance blue fruit And a finish which the energizer bunny would be proud of!!
Outstanding my friend! I hope this post finds you well. I haven’t heard from you in quite some time! 👏👏👏🙌

Hot tar bouquet and coal black in the glass. 4 hour decant. Rich and brawny with loads of blackberry, blueberry and dark chocolate. Bordeaux blend but domestic style.
