Syrah

Smells like Bacon Marmalade.

Niagara River Sub-appellation.

Not a huge fan of Syrah generally, but this has a nice meaty character. Stewed fruit and spice. Went well with beef stew.

Reminds me of a charcuterie board. Smoke and mirrors: not quite sure what type of wine it is by the taste. Maybe I don't drink enough Syrah to spot what it is immediately.

This is the syrah. Better than the Pinot.

Very nicely balanced. Low alcohol (relatively). Food friendly.

I really liked this. Smoky, meaty, cured meat. Super funky and gamey. I love this face of syrah.

We absolutely love Derek's Lailey Syrah. The 2012 is wonderful but could use five or more years in the bottle. The flavours included tobacco, dark berries and black pepper.

I usually like their wines but this one i wasn't crazy about
