The Laherte “Ultradition” BdB pours a straw bordering golden color with a persistent mousse. Visually, it’s a somewhat diminutive version of the “glitter” I’ve witnessed from vintage Laherte. High intensity with incredibly ripe apples and white peach with an touch of an autolytic note. On the palate, the wine is full of fruit, again with the apples and white peach. Medium+ acid. Almost too easy to drink! Disgorged September of 2020 and while it’s labeled Brut, the dosage is labeled less than 5g/l which means it technically falls in the Extra Brut category.

Crisp apple nose and tart pear delicacy on the palate. Small, elegant bubbles and dry. Paired well with salmon; would pair well with light apps/charcuterie. Thinking this would be a great hot-summer-day champagne as it is bright and not sweet, rather than a good toasty champs for winter.

Crisp, acidic, white flowers, mouth filling. And a great label to boot. Disgorged 04-2016
