Lacoste-Borie
Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend
It’s great to grab a wine with a little age. Deep Ruby color with aromas of dark fruits, floral spice and cedar notes, blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with some Merlot and Cabernet Franc, aged 75% on new oak. On the palate flavors of blackberry, ripe plum and black cherry with cacao, tobacco, licorice and spice. Fine developed tannins, well balanced on long finish, ending with fruit, cedar and earthy spice character. Very nice, tasting great now.

Jan 18th, 20242015 vintage. The second wine of Grand-Puy-Lacoste. A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Oak dominates the nose, with black fruits lurking in the background. A serious wine, even a bit severe with a solid dusty tannic structure. A bit underwhelming, given the long track record of excellence of the Grand vin. This will probably need a few more years of bottle ageing. Abv. 13,5 %.

May 10th, 2022Dark rubi robe, with some purple reflects. Nose of blackcurrant and dark fruits, a touch of anise and flowers. Not the most elegant Pauillac but pretty well done in a modern but not excessive style.

May 3rd, 2020Advanced Bordeaux: Further Exploring the Two Banks Class
The second label of Chateau Grand Puy Lacoste, but certainly not inferior. The oak still shows for a nine-year-old wine, with notes of a spicy cedar box. There is a good balance of acidity, with a lively freshness. This drinks well when it is young.
