McCarthy & Schiering, $14
Nose is a bit hot with jammy fruit, black olive, maybe a little minerality. Comes off a bit sweet with the rich jammy note, pretty heavy tannins, and not much acidity. It's kind of prune-like cherry, touch of black olive, minerality, and some sort of slight anise or vanilla spice at the finish. Quite complex and definitely a quality well-made wine, but not really my style, not a fan of the sweet jammy note to it, maybe more acidity would balance it. Rating purely on my preference and not the quality.

Wonderful for $8. Super food friendly and easy drinking. Well balanced. Smooth red fruit, vanilla, and earthy flavors.
