Nose has cranberry, blackberry, over-ripe raspberry, prune, black licorice and muddy garden soil, ripe plum and melted butter.

Palate has dried blackberry, raspberry, dried cranberry, black licorice, medium acidity with a long finish; Great wine.

1500ml means your care. ❤️ Decanted 5H, much more time appreciated.

Paired to Asian-style food, tonight with Taiwanese Five Spice Pork (Lu Rou Fan | 卤肉饭) over Jasmin rice with lightly fried eggs from our private egg factory in the backyard. Locally raised NY pork (Highland Farm, Old Chatham, NY).

Scarlet tawny, mostly translucent. Great nose. Notes of briary red fruit, strawberries and raspberries, rhubarb, bing cherries, some menthol and some allspice. Big impactful story when this hits the mouth. Rich, fruit forward and chewy. Massive core of fruit inside. Really good tonight. Everyone likes this more than the Dujac and Arnoux, including me.

Nose has fresh/bright cherry, spent espresso grounds, blackberry, moist-chocolate muffin, drying garden soil after a rain and ripe black cherry.

Palate has ripe black cherry, ripe black currant, plum skin, moist soil, pure and complex, evolving with each sip. Great tart acidity with smooth, but notable tannins, youthful. Very pleasurable to drink.

The second of several 2014 La Pousse d'Or bottles we acquired late in 2019. This, as expected needs another 8-12+ years (2030+) to show its truer self.

Paired with well-rendered, Moulard duck breasts with a blueberry/veal demi-glace/wine sauce and our newly dug, boiled potatoes with butter and garden herbs. Nothing better than a new potato from our garden, I could almost eat them raw!

Cork pulled ~10h prior, to allow for a slow oxygenation in a cool cellar space. Decanted another +2h afterwards.

Punching so far above its weight it broke the scale. Concentrated but light as a feather. Elegant as all heck.

Really opened up on day 2. Toasty oak aromas integrate well into the chalky minerality and subtle tart fruits. Would like to revisit this with a few more years of age

Out of Magnum. Wanted to see what was aging better, 2016 Burgundy or my son that just turned 2. Jury still out! This was however, very good. For a young burg from a producer than requires age, it had a delicate side that expressed itself well with amazing density and structure. A real good start to a long life ahead. Glad I have more mags.
