La Marea
Kristy Vineyard Albariño
2019 vintage. Very melon-y and round. Musk melon, green pear, unripe peach, white rocks, seemingly a little weight added from either lees or minor skin contact. Very good quality, but a little steep for California obscurae.

Dec 18th, 2020Cal-barino is one of the best values in the wine world right now. I think Ian Brand probably makes the best.

Jun 22nd, 2019Lime pith, ripe pear notes on the exuberant nose.... but the weight on the palate is impressive. Textured, waxy, lively acidity and a long almost saline finish. This is a food wine that can hold its own with Asian or Mediterranean cuisine and slice through the richness and complexity to make its own statement. An impressive introduction to Ian Brand and a stunning value. Kudos!
