Jan 16th, 2020'Natural wine' from El Dorado. No new oak, instead a pure expression of Syrah. A bitter brine olive character makes it unusual, but the intensity and depth of flavours also set it apart. (2013)

This was incredibly smokey- like it actually tastes like that liquid smoke stuff they sell in a bottle but is really unique...I've never had anything like it. Went well with slow braised short ribs from Vermont beef share. There's also some fun earthy, fruity and funky complex stuff going on in here but the smokiness definitively dominates.
