La Chapelle de Potensac
Delon Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend
Médoc, Bordeaux, France
Actually, one of the best young Bordeaux I ever tried. Not mine type of the wine, but I should say really excellent to the producer. A lot of black cherry, cassis, toasted aromas, thick and well balanced. Pronounced aromas and heavy tannins. Will be much better in five years, with a strong potential to development. Buy a case, drink a bottle and the rest is worth to keep.

2016 seems poorer than other vintages. Lacking body, mid-palate is somewhat hollow and the acidity is unbalanced there isn’t enough fruit or body to support the acidity of the wine #médoc

2nd Growth from this producer. At peak drinking: the eight years burnishes all the old school Bordeaux parts, but for me it’s that cassis fruit core which makes it sing. Oh, & for 20$!

Opened up so well second day. Dried rose, lilac, seductive floral note on the nose, dark fruits such as blackberry, black currant, slight plumy, dried fig and dates, touch of cinnamon, cloves. Med plus tannin, med plus to long fish.

Excellent #qpr #quality well balanced. Good intensity of aromas, good body and flavor and medium plus finish. Sensations of ash and sage on the palate. Highly drinkable. #medoc

Whoa! This is great! And it’s quite a value, too! This is better than some Bordeauxs that cost ten times what this costs. I don’t know how well it will hold up in 10 to 20 more years, but it’s very drinkable now.
Wet, cobblestones and wet leather on the nose. A hint of cassis on the front of the tongue. Medium tannic structure. Flinty high notes on the mid palate and on the finish. No low notes to balance out the high, but otherwise I’m happy with this wine. I’m giving it a 9.5 because it’s my ideal of what a Bordeaux should be.
