La Celestiere
Côtes du Rhône Red Rhone Blend
Very decent CDR. Quite herbaceous and peppery, but after it had been open 2 hrs, it finally rounded out to be a rich, dark and ripe wine. Went well with "Brick Chicken" w/ Roasted veggies and a homemade Italian dressing. 70% Grenache, 30% Cinsault.

Apr 12th, 2017Excellent, low-acidity although with a slight peppery taste. Left a light but pleasant tone on the tongue and pallet. I thoroughly enjoy Cotes de Rhône reds and will add this to my favorites.

Sep 9th, 2022Not very good. High acidity that obfuscates the flavor. There are far better Cotes de Rhône varieties out there.

Jan 29th, 2022We really enjoyed this wine. Wonderfully fruit forward with nice complexity. We’ve been trying a variety of French wines and this is our favorite Cotes du Rhône so far.

Apr 7th, 2021I'm loving Cote du Rhones lately and this is a good example. Fairly thick glass for a CdR.

Jun 19th, 2018Fabulous Cotes du Rhone and 60% Grenache 40% Cinsault. Black cherries on the nose, violates, with a meaty center. Awesome wine!

Nov 3rd, 20162009, La Celestiere, Cotes Du Rhone, 50 Grenache/ 50 Cinsault. Second bottle of this, while it is a little better with age, it is still a "too much" wine: too much alcohol, too much extraction and tannins are still not integrated. There are layers of fruit, spices and other secondary aromas and flavors but are overshadowed by the alcohol.
