Jamie Kutch joined our tasting of 14 of his single-vinyard and Sonoma Coast Pinots - 2007-2013. This Falstaff vineyard was the group’s #1.

Heavily perfumed. Black cherry, cranberry and orange zest jump from the glass. A little spice and very present acidity round out the palate. Just entering a drinking window, but really unwinds in the glass. The good thing is you can enjoy smelling this one for a while before tasting.

This is gorgeous. A paradoxical wine that is restrained yet flavor packed. Still young but starting to show its potential. Wild cherry, cranberry, and orange zest. Framed by lively acidity and that cherry note maintains through the long finish.

An aromatic nose of bright cherries and dried herbs lends itself to a refined palate of cranberries, cut by the tannin's black tea and pepper. Lovely acid stays with you past the finish.

Aristocratic. Light, gentle, perfumed opening of classic Cali Pinot black cherry, rhubarb and sandalwood. Turns richer in the mouth with quenching cranberry fruit, good acidity, black tea, some saline and Northern Cali forest floor. Nice restraint overall

New world infanticide this time; super lush and berryful with a playful body. Not the deepest but great on a cool summer night with a Mediterranean salad 😁

Interesting in that there are ripe flavors but not a ripe feel. Lots going on in terms of acids, spice, and earth. Fruit is there but still mouth-watering.
