A very pretty nose. Some oxidative notes but then fresh yellow flowers, lemon, minerality, stone. The palate is wonderful. Very balanced and sophisticated- oyster shells, a touch of sweetness. Soft acidity throughout. Settled and delicious- a way to go.

Tasted side by side with the 2000. The DNA is there but vintage characteristics are on full display. This was full of power and freshness. Complexity versus structure. Underwent many changes during the night, rambunctious, flirty , mellow. Will eventually resemble its older sibling but it will take a long time before it demonstrates maturity.

I never realized how young this vintage actually was until I compared it side by side with the 1990. This is a a beast in its infancy. Ignorance is Bliss as they say!!! Damn, I shouldn't have had it next to a 1990. It will be hard to pop one of these again knowing what it will be in another 10 to 15 years. This was wound tight and the flavors were on point. You can immediately tell that it was built to cellar for the long haul. It was crisp and fresh unlike the 90 and showed apples, lemon, and a nose that was insanely bright and vibrant. With time this will be one of the greatest vintages ever produced

I have never had a Krug that drinks so well on release, but they were exceptionally patient with this one. Vosne-Romanee like savory rich dark fruit and more Champagne refreshment than should fit in a 750!
