The nose reveals; unstated tropical fruits, cut grass, lemon, lime, fruit blossoms, vanilla, cream, green bean, saline, touch of sea spray with yellow & white flowers.

The body is medium but, feels rich and creamy. Tropical fruits, cut grass, banana peel, lemon, lime, white peach, fruit blossoms, vanilla, cream, green bean, saline, touch of sea spray with yellow & white flowers. The acidity is excellent. The finish is well balanced, rich, polished and gorgeous.

Photos of; a professional photo of their hillside vineyard in their prime growing season; which is late December through March, old basket press in the tasting room, the rocky & fine granitic soils that vary their through their Estate and tasting area in their large oak vat room.

First of the four Sauvignon Blancs at Klein Constantia that we tried today.

Light pale yellow in appearance. A little green on the nose with some green apples, white fruits, gravel and a touch of orange. A bit high in the acidity (7/10) that really shoots through in the medium finish. Light body with notes of citrus and stone fruits as well as some minerality and strawberries. Drink till 2019.

Aged for seven months on the lees.

Medium pale yellow. Quite herbaceous on the nose with a touch of citrus. Moderate acidity (5.5/10) and light bodied. Some stone fruits on the nose with herbaceous characteristics too. Medium finish. Drink till 2019.

Color: Clear pale yellow.
Nose/Smell: Lots of green apples and undertones of fresh grass.
Palate/Taste: High acidity and not as fruity on the palate as it was on the nose. Finish was short and very metallic.
Opinion: Slightly too acidic for me and never a fan of heavy metallics.

Pale yellow with a touch of green. Smells like lime zest and papaya. Tastes like minerals, sea salt with a lingering pomelo aftertaste.

This South African sauvignon blanc has a saline mineral complexity with citrus and herbaceous tones. Bright and not too acid. Medium dry.
