Green Apple on the nose; limestone and toasted caramel. Sea salt and a little bit of marzipan on the palate but certainly not as savory as the ‘12 McCrea last weekend. More tropical fruit like with mango! Holding up surprisingly well with crisp acidity. Not getting any better, enjoy now!

2008 vintage. Lovely Chard. Kistler is just always so consistent.

Compared to a 2008 Kistler Kistler, this one emerged the victor. But, still compared to a 2010 Aubert Lauren, a 2010 K-gaard Judge Chard, and a 2011 Peter Michael, these Kistler chards finished somewhere in the middle. This wine definitely has more minerality. Better balance from start to finish. Very little butter or malo influence here. I think that this wine is right in the wheelhouse, although CT states 2010-2016 drinking window that I have to completely disagree with. This wine is showing beautifully, and probably has another 1-2 years before it starts to decline. Still, if you have these 2008's, it's time to start drinking!

If you like aged Chardonnay, drink this now. Carmel, nuts, and creme brûlée.

#00752 who says a Cali Chard cannot age gracefully. I would not wait any longer but no regrets on waiting 9 years to see how this progressed. Prominent lemon and mineral notes.
