Kirkland Signature
Suscol Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

Drank 5/30/23
Excellent with a ribeye.
Nose of blackberry, spiramint, and a touch of spice. Flavors of blackberry, plum, leather, and cassis. Black cherry and some firm tannin on the finish. For a single vineyard cab from napa, this is a great value, although it does lean a bit more old world, which I rather enjoy.

This is the new 2018 Kirkland Suscol vineyard single vineyard cab. By far the best label Kirkland has made. Beautiful etching of the vineyard on the bottle. Stylistically too ripe for us, but excellent balance of fruit and oak. Great with steak tacos. People are gonna eat this up!

I seldom buy Kirkland/Costco wines, but with a great Napa vintage combining a reputable vineyard, I decided to give a try.
Nice ripe black fruits with oak spices. Noticeable green note that might be off putting for some palates but I actually like it for it provides a fresh lift. Supple and balanced. Give it another 3-5 years in the bottle. Oh only 13% ABV. All for less than $20.
Will get couple more bottles if it’s still available.

I like everybody waxes rhapsodic about how Europe has these wonderful wines at a low price point with their negotiations, but then you get something like what Costco does and all of a sudden people are turning into snobs. It is what it is, it’s delicious and tasty and nothing too serious, and is that an accessible price point that multiple people can enjoy and not just the wealthy. I love it for being what it is.

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there!
As always, my rating considers QPR! Old World, in style, could stand for additional aging but no regrets! Presents mocha, mint, coffee, red berries, black berries, pencil lead...single vineyard under $20!

Excellent high-QPR SV #napa #cabernetsauvignon. It leans “Old Worldish” but still has plenty of big fruit up front, nicely balanced, some coffee and subtle earthy undertones -and velvety tannins to close out. Call this the “Anti-Caymus” 💣 #costcowines
