Kirkland Signature
Old Vine Sonoma County Zinfandel
Beautiful ruby in color with a reddish rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, blueberries, cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, green notes, light barnyard, metals and white pepper.
Medium bodied with medium acidity and nice legs.
Fruity on the palate with blackberries, plums, cherries, currants, oak, vanilla, spices, chocolates, licorice, light bell pepper, leather and pepper.
Medium plus in finish with round tannins and spices.
A Nice California Zinfandel. Nicely balanced, with a gentle mouth feel and a kick. Good by itself, as a sipping wine, or with food.
Needs 15 minutes to open up. Drinking well now, the 2012 was better, though.
15.3% alcohol by volume.

Medkum bodied. Really opened up in the second glass so needs time to breath. Great deal and definitely will buy again.

Dec 16th, 2016Because it’s Kirkland, it’s a great value. Dark red color, full of berries, spice and smells of floral. Paired well with tri-tip and dark chocolate. Hints of strawberries?

Apr 18th, 2021Pours a nice purple with a lighter rim, decent legs and a pleasant nose. Tastes of raspberry, plum, subtle vanilla and oak (some dirt too). Clean finish and underdeveloped tannins. Bought a second bottle to age and compare, at $9 it’ll be a fun comparison without breaking the bank. Was hoping for more complexity, but this will do fine with dinner.

Aug 20th, 2017A little sweet for my taste, but balanced. Agree with the comment on heat on the finish.
