Kim Crawford
New Zealand Chardonnay
When was the last time you had a Kiwi Chardonnay? If it’s been awhile and you love Camembert cheese then this might be the one for you 😉 I hear it’s a fantastic match.
A big thanks to Kim Crawford for this sample of their 2018 Chardonnay. It’s available at Liqourland for $22.
We found it a honeyed lemon shade in the glass with notes of creamy custard, citrus peel, stonefruit, florals/herbs and fresh pears on the nose. While in the mouth it’s extremely approachable and drinking so well right now. There’s some pineapple and orange & lemon citrus flavours in the mouth. Yum!
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

Look, this isn't typically a wine I'd pick up, but trying to find a decent unoaked Chardonnay in the Hampton, New Brunswick liquor store is a true needle/haystack situation and accomplishing this task solely from the user-unfriendly NB Liquor website is even worse.
It's not bad! Not wonderful, but not bad! I had to hunt down the wine maker's notes because I couldn't believe it's not butter(-y oak). Malolactic fermentation, people! Gets me every time.
Tropical fruit on the nose. It's not flabby, but definitely not one of the racy Nova Scotia whites we've been pounding back for the last week.
