Drank 7/23/20.

Simple nose of lemon and a touch of pear. Flavors are well balanced, with lemon curd and some peach notes. Clean, citrus driven finish. A middle of the road style.

The first Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay was released in 1983. Pale lemon color. Some oak and stone fruit aromas. Peach and tropical fruits on the palate with vanilla and buttery oak on the finish. Good value for a wine to entertain a crowd that won't break the bank. Consistent quality. Tasting Sample. Previously Tasted ‘15 & ‘16 side by side, not much difference. Consistent.

This got better as the weekend went on, starting on Friday quite sour & one dimensional, and finishing on Sunday as a very well rounded and pleasant wine. Would’ve definitely benefited from decanting. Quite tropical, with mango, Jonagold apple and a chalky mouthfeel. Probably wouldn’t buy again, but pleasing nonetheless.

Had a 2013 tucked away in my cellar, wanted to see how this would stand up to age, opened on 5/6/18. The first Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay was released in 1983. Golden yellow color, some gentle oak and very ripe stone fruit aromas. Ripe apple and apricot fruits on the palate with vanilla and some buttery oak on the finish. Aged very well, to me stands up to wine in $25 range. Good value for a wine to entertain a crowd that won't break the bank.

Like gnawing on oak chips. I took a chance at the local Publix in Naples and it didn’t pay off. It tastes just like you think supermarket Chardonnay would taste: cheap and mass-produced.

Very nice buttery and smooth taste. Little sweeter than we might like but still went very well with rockfish and peaces for desert. Giant priced at $17, on sale for $11. Love that bale!
