Feb 20th, 201712' Kelham Chardonnay. In a Bordeaux wine bottle🤔. Amazingly this is the current vintage. We've had a few of the Kelham wines in the past. These wines taste like nothing else coming out of the valley. I would've thought this was a combination of Rhone style white & Chardonnay mix? No... 100% Chardonnay?
The Palate - Unusual, in a very good way. Screams Honey ,crisp yellow apple skins, pineapples, banana peel. It's intertwined with stones, acid. "It's a Chardonnay"..yes.
Pairing this with scallops wrapped in bacon & a little apple chutney sauce.

Remarkably Chardonnay with lovely yet soft caramelized butterscotch savory notes from the use of well balanced oak which plays perfectly with the seductive fresh apricot, and white peach.

I'm giving this a good rating because I have had it before and it was tasty. Tonight's bottle had a perfect cork, but was really oxidized and off. Sad. Hope the next one is better.

Obvious ripe fruit. Apple, pear, pineapple. Clearly Napa valley. Butterscotch and caramel. Lots of oak.

Golden yellow with significant body. Aromas are ripe baked apple & pineapple. An abundance of wood tannin battles it out with highly extracted pineapple & guava flavors. I actually wish I had cellared this at least another year.
