Amery Vineyards Hillside Shiraz

Under steven and very reductive

Great nose, much more elegant than the majority of the 98 from SA, palate not as good especially regarding persistence
10 times better than the 02 We used to have on the list😉

fully integrated w pop of crunchy dark red fruit ~ drink up!

darker fruits w notes of chocolate, game and pepper ~ fuller and longer than the ‘04

With the 🦆, stands up nicely.

Meaty and full of olives and oak--minty and herbaceous and with soaring acidity. Did not call this shiraz, but was pleasantly surprised.

Nose of Black cassis, blackberries, blueberries, plum, expresso, tar, coffee and dry red florals. Tannins are still a bit chewy with strong wood influence. The palate fruits are; black cherries, black plum & plums, plums, plums, plum, cake, blueberries, black tea, black licorice, soft dusty minerals with nice acidity. Still an infant. Featured in the photo is Duncan their Winemaker for the last two vintages and vines from around the estate.

Disastrous dinner saved by a beautiful wine, still full of jammy black fruits, roasted basil, and leather.

Amazingly smooth with leather, baking spices and plum.

Packing for Italy and drinking Shiraz. This was WAY better than I expected. Collin Kay dialed this in. Hell of a deal.
