My first Turkish wine. Kavaklidere is Turkey’s oldest winemaker, and having this blend with view of the Bosporus and Blue Mosque really makes it taste great. It’s a cab, Syrah blend, but very bright and fresh.

May 8th, 2024Very soft initially but shows a fair amount of acidity. Blackberry and plum notes. Lighter-bodied, not particularly complex but pleasant and paired really well with the roast beef sandwich. $10-ish at Phoenicia Market.

Dec 1st, 2017Decent table wine, bumped up a bit by the price point. Enough Carignan to fix the flatlining Merlot in their other blend.
