Should of pull the cork earlier. Multiple layers of complexity. This would probably taste even better tomorrow morning. Easily another 10 years in it.

I’m a big fan of this winery as you don’t see them around very much. Such high quality with impeccable wine making. Slow ox for 1-2hrs. 95 merlot/5 CabFranc. Espresso and dark cocoa dusted black cherry, ripe blackberry and currant aromatics...intoxicating. So soft, yet ripe fruit, on the palate. Cherry swisher sweets, baked mixed berry figs, and still tart red and black fruit. Can’t believe how tart and ripe the fruit is even at 13yrs. Outstanding.

You'll be reaching for the decanter, soon after your first sip! Certainly one of the very best California Merlot blends. Drinking now- 10 great years in it.

A bright and lively perfume emerges from the glass. Notes of blue/black fruits, and espresso are evident.
The palette presents blueberries with a hint of maple syrup and charcoal. It has good weight and presence, but lacks density. Flavors are concentrated and powerful. A good effort from what was a challenging vintage.

The most sludge and sediment I've ever seen from a wine but once I got that sorted out it was fantastic! Decanted 3+ hrs and really blossomed with time. Without a doubt Lou and company are making the finest merlot in California. This should age for many more years but so enjoyable right now

Celebrating my father in law as he finished his battle with pancreatic cancer. Sometimes there is the right wine at the right place with the right people. Even let the almost adult children on the action. Great celebration. This wine was feminine and full of black/ blue fruit. Thank you Lou for your passion You exceeded expectations and delivered. From magnum.

Aging beautifully. Still showing very young and tight, decanting this wine will help it out tremendously. It shows better even on the second day after opening. Tasted it blind and thought it was a younger wine (2010) possibly. This wine has years ahead of it!
Concentrated, aromatics are stunning and pure, great mouthfeel and silkiness!
