Fresh red berries, peppery and highly aromatic red currants, some licorice and mild to low smoky notes. Medium plus tannins, yet low astringent, but still a bit young to drink, it needs some time, but shows great potential.

May 3rd, 2015Carmel Valley (Central Coast) has been a favorite destination for my wine adventures. Joullian has been a staple there for 25 years--winemaker Ridge Watson included. Their 2007 (silver at the SF wine comp) lacked that cab kick.
