Monthly WTF wine group. Special event this month as Ben provided all ‘80s Napa cabs. A few of us chipped in and provided some whites/bubbly.
Wow. Winner of the flight and tied for WOTN. Blind I would have guessed first or second growth Bordeaux. New leather, pepper, toasted black fruit, fresh squeezed black cherry. Drinking beautifully!

Wow 1987, decanted for 4.5 hours. On the nose very herbaceous, little sage, thyme. On the palate very fine tannins has a cedar, tertiary phase! Thanks Rick!

Some earthy wet towels on the nose. Beautiful fruit is still extremely expressive balanced tannins long finish! Yes this 29 year wine still has it.

Had the 87 many times through the past 20 years and unfortunately today is done, rest in peace... I prefer to stick to memories of when it use to have a lovely and elegant forward fruit that could make me smile even on the toughest day.
