Joseph Händler
Sweet Red Dornfelder
A nice and simple sweet red wine from Germany. Showing black and red fruits with chocolates and sugar.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Sweet, but almost balanced. Not bad at all. Had it chilled, much better.
9% alcohol by volume.
84 points.

Joseph Händler is a wine produced in the Rheinhessen region of Germany & produces private label brand for Trader Joe’s. Sweet but you are not getting a port! Made with Dornfelder grape with sweet red fruit aromas. On the palate cherry and plum flavors, spice and vivid acidity. Dry sweet tannins with a slight edge. Ok, a little odd but not a Fav. Be sure to chill a bit.

Dec 1st, 2017Gift wine: put a chill on this, very simple medium bodied red w/RS - not a dessert wine & not at all cloying, in fact could have used more vibrant acidity. Darker fruits, under to medium ripeness, hint of mocha - goes down smooth & easy

Jul 7th, 2018To share with friends who may be new to Reds. Not too sugary, but definitely sweet. Crisp on the finish.
