On this Saturday night I have opened the 2018 Joseph Drouhin Côte de Nuits-Villages.

On the nose there is cherry, strawberry, cranberry, cinnamon, slight smokiness and underbrush.

On the palate I am getting notes of cherry, raspberry, strawberry, hibiscus, mushroom, vanilla and earthiness.

This wine is medium to full bodied with medium + acidity and medium + firm fine frained tannins with a long red fruit tannic finish. I hope your weekend is a good one and that everyone is healthy and safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

I have opened the 2015 Joseph Drouhin Côte de Nuits-Villages Pinot Noir to.start the weekend off on the right foot. Had a taste for a pinot noir and might as go to a basic burgundy.

Those shows me notes of strawberry, cherry, cranberry, clove, cola, vanilla, mushroom, rose petal, herbaceousness and an earthy component.

On the palate there is new strawberry, tart cherry, cranberry, cola, clove, vanilla, menthol, green tea, toasty oak, rose petal, a minerality and dry earthy soil.

This is a medium bodied wine with medium acidity and fine medium + tannins with a medium fresh finish. Please enjoy your weekend and stay safe in whatever you choose to do. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

This really is ground-breaking Pinot. It drinks exactly how it shouldn't, and it's fantastic. Young and bright like this is great, aroma mellows to bright cherry yet starts will hints if spice. Pallet is juicy and acidic, a wonderful wine to crush, but is intense in a very unexpected and pleasant way. The Bourgogne for the Rhone drinker.

98' vintage of and beautifully mysterious. Minty beef jus, cherry skin and pit, then turns darker fruited and savory/umami. Wishing for duck breast but duck liver pate will have to do for the night.

After about an hour, definitely espresso notes on the palate but otherwise a lovely red fruit (strawberry, cranberry) nose/palate, some mushroom/earthy forest floor, drying but not overly dry, nicely balanced with tannins that are softening but still has some punch. Not the easiest drinking burgundy but one that certainly punches above its $40 weight class. Great value!

This is excellent stuff and punches well above its weight. Floral and spicy nose with medium body, good fine tanins and lots of minerality / balance. Very dense and structured from the mid to the end, so it will benefit from 4 to 5 years in a good cellar. Great stuff and excellent QPR.
