Exceptional beauty -just growing out of the first blush of a pretty youth to the strength of womanhood -red currants, crunchy red cherries, a mandarin citrus peel scent, gentle tannins and fine boned structure -a gentle spice and a haunting soprano finish whose sustained finish defies expectation -a force without weight -angelic. Laurent Drouhin just said "Chamboll-Musigny will never be a deep dark Pinot Noir ...definitely because of the soil." To which I thank the terroir and the Drouhins.

Delicious! Strawberry notes at first then cherry along with earth. Still a nice amount of tannins after almost 8 years. Paired nicely with pork belly and mushrooms.

In theory, this wine is available for $69. While that qualifies as a bargain based upon its nose, flavor, length combination, the purchase component didn't perform in 3 attempts. Back to the wine, it perfectly complemented our meal at Oceana.

Typical textbook Bourgogne Pinot. Could have used a little bottle age.
