From Half Bottle (375 ml). Grapefruit yet Lychee type flavours with light mineral and medium acidity. Only 8.5% Alc but such intensity, length of flavour with plenty of residual sweetness. To be honest I was expecting more complexity from such an accomplished producer. Has the structure to age for decades. Putting a food match of pork belly to the test, as suggested, and it worked. I would normally have a light red.

Crisp tropical fruit aromas of pineapple, guava, mangos with peach and honey, as well as crushed stone. Spritzy and sweet on entry with delicious sweet white fruit, citric midpalate with a long sweet mineral finish.

Stunning wine. Beautiful nose of smoky slate, yellow fruit and saline. Palate is full and rich with zippy acidity which carries ripe peach, lemon candy, mango skin, stones, slate, smoke, and pepper. Gorgeously balanced Spatlese with big acidity to balance out the weight and RS. The texture is beautiful with the wine feeling velvety smooth and almost rolling down the side of the palate while the middle sees a powerful acidic backbone that's isn't bracing, but promises great life ahead. 2010
