Monday night and sampling a 2012 Joel Gott Chardonnay. I picked this up at $14.99. The color is a very light yellow but pleasing to the eye. It looks as though it uses grapes from Sonoma, Napa, and Monterey Counties. This is an unpacked Chard which I tend to like. The nose is has nice tropical fruit, papaya, pineapple, and melon. I can also pick up hints of honeysuckle and a bit of vanilla. The palate gives us stone fruit, apple and citrus notes. This wine has clean bright acid and a nice minerality. At this price point not a bad Chard at all.

Aug 12th, 2014For the price, this was pretty good. Fresh and crisp, unoaked but with a nice creamy texture.
