1 person found it helpfulJun 5th, 2019A pretty color of dark ruby with a wide reddish rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, blackcurrants, black plums, sweet cherries, oak, raisins, dried figs, cloves, vanilla, spices, peppercorn, light earth, mocha, coffee and tobacco.
Full-bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, cloves, tobacco, coffee, chocolates, peppercorn, spices, earth and light vegetables.
Medium plus in length on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a nice Cabernet from California. Showing mild complexity and a nice mouthfeel. Spicy with lots of cloves, that gives it an aftertaste that I did not like.
Good by itself or with food. I paired it with brisket.
Needs an hour to open up properly and show some tannins.
13.9% alcohol by volume.
87 Points.
$15.

Can’t fully appreciate the nose as I’m drinking out of a barnhouse chalice. Nevertheless, some deep fruits and the mouth is very balanced and firm. Could wait another 5-10.

Dec 24th, 2020Joel Gott. Let’s address the elephant in the room-$15 bottle, and close to $20 after the great state of Oklahoma imposes their sales and liquor tax. Very smooth glass of wine. Very tasty. Will quickly find yourself on yourself on your 3rd glass if you aren’t careful. Nothing makes it great, but everything makes it good. Solid all around. You get your money’s worth. Save this one for a steak and dessert dinner.

Mar 14th, 2020In Fort Stockton,TX at K-Bob’s. Busy local steakhouse & bar with lots of cowboys. Wine was delivered too warm so ice bucket was needed to bring the temperature down a few degrees. Better than the Kenwood we had last night. $32 on the wine list.
