High acid, smooth tannins-the focus of JK Carriere & they've hit the bulls eye on this beauty! Earthy savory & herbaceous components blend beautifully with blackberry and dark cherry aromas and flavors. Herbs, earth & fruit are rounded out by vibrant acidity and a mineral core. Totally divine, elegant yet powerfully complex.

Youthful and fresh (it needs a little air), with aromas of cranberry and currant washed in rainwater, plus a whiff of cypress. It’s lean and vertical on the palate, with cranberry fruit, again, and a faint licorice back note. It’s less ripe than many of the 2012 Oregon Pinots, but they’ve thrown a tiny bit of oak at it, with a long élevage, which rounds it out. Fermented with ambient yeast and aged in barrel for 17 months, 10% new, and named for the wasp that plagues the winemaker. 13.5% abv | $42 (sample)

Rich, deep and full of oregoness. Pomegranate and apple skin with big tannins. Wouldn't open again for 3 years and would love to know this wine in 2026

A big mouthful of ripe bing cherry and herbs, good acid, mineral notes and backbone to balance it out. It screams 2012. Going to hold remaining bottles a few more years to tame the fruit.
