Jean-Marc Pillot
Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Chardonnay
Aloxe-Corton, Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France

Lemon rind aromas green apple, some tropical fruit as I said in January 2019, and a touch of honeysuckle. On the palate rich flavours - some butter and plenty of mineral at 11 years of age. Concentrated and delicious proving its Grand Cru credentials from Corton Charlemagne. This is an excellent GC White Burgundy from a producer better known for its holdings in Chassagne Montrachet.

Notes of tropical fruits. Very rich ripe fruit on the palate. Reflecting the warm 2015 vintage making it a trickier vintage to control over the cooler 2014 vintage. As always the better producers did well.

Similar to the Chevalier. Just as intense. Good concentration - Dry Extract - Wow and Delicious. 97 Points. The 8th and final Grand Cru White Burgundy in the lineup.

2011: seriously good juice. Some really good matiere here. Plenty of time in hand yet delicious to appreciate now in a vigourous sort of way. #bourgogne

Oct 29th, 2015Petrol on the nose. Would have guessed this was an Alsatian Riesling by the nose. But then it's lemon and herbs in the mouth. Supple and soft but enough acid to last a while. Biggest complaint is the mismatch of the nose to the taste. I think the climat carries this one despite the winemaking.
