Jean-Marc Brocard
Vau de Vey Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay
The 2022 Chablis Vau de Vey 1er Cru has a lovely bouquet with orchard fruit scents bursting from the glass with a bit more gusto than last year. The palate is fresh and vibrant with a slightly viscous texture and a saline finish. Excellent. (Neal Martin, Vinous, August 2024)

Very open and inviting Chablis. Nose jumps out, with scents of crushed sea shell, citrus oil, green apple, wet straw. Round and ripe ( but not too ripe) in the mouth. Nice, gently but mouthwatering acids to buoy up the super-pure fruit. Some nice limestone minerality as well. Drinking beautifully right now. I don’t see this as a Chablis to age.

Mar 30th, 2024Crushed rocks, bright minerality, medium weight, butter, green apple, lemon, great acid. I’d imagine it went through partial/full malo. Kinda took away from the salinity, but still great. Worked amazing with scallops.

Nov 16th, 2019This was terrific. Nice weight to it with a smoothness I wasn’t expecting. Notes of lemon cream and wet stone, this went down (a little too) easy.

Light gold in color, nose full of butter, minerals, citrus and nuts, full body, creamy yet fresh, with lovely acidity, long rich finish. A nice wine. My score 88, drink to 2020

This is in a quite nice stage right now. It has a stony acidity that characterises it but underneath there's some richness with a slight hint of oak. I like it!
