Jean-Marc Brocard
Beauroy 1er Cru Chablis Chardonnay
Screwcork! Still this wine has evolved deep tropical fruit flavors and preserved a haunting minerality. Smashing!

Jun 30th, 2021Tried right after the -12 vintage and what a difference! This wine was sumptuous, elegant with honey, butter, and tropical fruit and almost Burgundy-like rather than Chablis-like. Perhaps this is what is called Meursaulté? Regardless, Loved it!

Jul 9th, 2020A screwcap bottle from the frost-ridden -12 vintage. Some reduction on the nose followed by great chalky wetstones; dimensionless on the palate despite good acid backbone.

Jul 9th, 2020Alot more viscous on the swirl than my -12:s; emerging hints of tertiary aromas on the nose - e.g., asparagus, mushroom - with slight honey and strong mineral notes; red citrus "blood grape" on the palate with high acids, white asparagus and honey. A few more years perhaps! Very different from when I tried same vintage in September last year.

Mar 29th, 2016Some reduction on the nose at opening aired out quickly and were replaced with nice bready creamy fruity nose with hint of honey; very high acid mouthfull of green apples and citrus but lacking in depth. Few more years?

Sep 18th, 2015Beautiful intense yellow colour not a lot in the nose but the taste is wonderful and so complex. Its all you can wish for in a superdry good withe, stones and lime, altibess from the sea, lemon zest but more sour, a taste of a different place and of wet autumn with sun, some kind of gooseberry like they used to taste as a child. 2016 perfectly age so much complexity and lot of balance and fruit with the acid but mixed and wonderful. Very nice on its own and with light food can match cream and pepper and seafood. After a while in the glass notes of nashi pears and rubbers appears

Nov 20th, 2020Rather perfect representation of Chablis tbh. Even got a lovely hazelnutty touch to it. Incredible balance & body.
