Wild ride here. Lustrous amber heavy skin contact character. Cider, orange blossom and jasmine topnotes with cinnamon, ginger, sarsaparilla, cardamom, walnuts, and curry emerging over time. So acetic it’s a little aggro but by god the precision and unfolding aromatic complexity is impressive; it is not microbial or dirty at all; and as it opens, a roundness and richness balances the VA. Good stuff.

Fun wine & a great combo when put up against Chinese dim sum. Cloudy and orange in the glass, this wine automatically shows you there is a wild trip ahead. The nose is Gewurtztraminer dominant and boozy (I believe this wine comes in at 14.5% abv). Heaps of honeysuckle, orange blossom, mead, orange marmalade, and ripe nectarine. Very expansive on the palate and a joy to drink. Vibrant and fun!

Aug 28th, 2018Incredible depth here, with quince, tangerine, honeysuckle and raw honey notes. This is bone dry buy very mineral...made in a classic orange wine style that keeps inviting you for the next sip. Another great bottle from Ganevat, 2016 vintage out of magnum.

Love this, an orange wine from the Jura, a blend of savagnin and gewürztraminer. Lychee, bitter orange, dried apricots. High acid but balanced. Interesting and delicious

Baby clothing. We start there. Notes of lychees, dreft, canned mandarin orange, just amazing nose....flavor of slightly rotting apples and sweet grape must vinegar, mild pez finish. Most interesting wine of the night....but not unanimous!

Sep 11th, 2020Fascinating and delicious! Just a bit funky but very hazy and somewhat high in acid. Super aromatic, with a nose more reminiscent of sweet whites (apricot and slate?).

Really interesting orange wine from the Jura. Almost Sauternes-esque on the nose. Wine really opens up after an hour or two to reveal herbal notes like a light yellow chartreuse.

Soooo gewurtzy. Very floral with vanilla and violet on the nose. Salty peachy, A little bit of minerality? Bright high acid, med body, caramel undertones.
