Nov 25th, 2023So tart, amazing licorice and very pure purple fruit; volatile acid that almost crosses the line but comes up clean in the end. Good juice, good vintage and a return to balance compared to 2018.

May 16th, 2021Baking spices, purple fruit, sweet, structured. I like it because it’s Foillard fleurie... but it lacks the ethereal magic of other vintages.

May 6th, 2021Insane spices on the nose. Confectionery cherry fruit. Smells like a Gamay cotton candy machine. Palate is ripe and explosive. Shows some of the 18 “lack of focus” but is pure and linear as well. Was more focused in 17 and I presume 19. Juicy and clean. Doesn’t quite have that ethereal, compact quality it usually has. Also a hint of funk/barnyard on the nose. Showing a tiny bit of heat as well .

Nov 27th, 2020This is good. I’ve had an unfortunate run with Beaujolais recently, four bottles in a row that were either muddled and overripe or overwhelmed with mouse. Needed to open this to remind myself.
Pink and purple flowers, black licorice, delicate pepper atop bright purple fruit. Very pure if a little ripe, the acid melds well into the spicy and subtly structured palate.

Quite mature and approachable now with forest floor, red raspberry and blackberry, leather and a hint of smoke. Elegant, medium acidity, very good with food

Apr 25th, 2020In a great place. Singing nose. Florals. Ripe cherries. Spice. So stunning. Wow. What intensity and complexity while remaining ephemeral. Stunning stunning nose. Just superb. Oh my god. 9.6 on the nose. Amazing fruit intensity and purity. Structured and tensile but soft and generous. So clean and a slippery silky palate with loads of sweet Gamay fruit. Needs some air but wow is this special.
