Fresh ripe dark berries and spice, heavier weight than previous vintages, more verve than the raisins less tannic than the Morgons. Better outta the fridge on day 2

Packs a punch way above a Villages wine. The β€˜18 has clean and bright cherry-almond notes, Morgon-like smoothness, and some lighter carbonic notes (a bit of banana?) but nothing crazy, and with some air, it is singing.

If I had to choose what distinguishes Foillard over other vintners , it would his exquisite balance-it’s perfect at least to my palate. Dark cherry profile on nose & palate, straightforward in the enjoyment quotient. Cost is about what Crus are now, but it’s worth it-his Crus are now in the 40/50+ $ range, so just a wee bit out of my wallet range ( if I wish to maintain my marriage πŸ˜‡)

Drank after a dank, remarkably humid & hot summer day, & cannot emphasize enough how welcoming this tasted. Black cherries predominate, has a touch of eety bitty fine tannins but this is really about gorgeous, meticulous fruit. Next time I’ll let it breathe, if I can resist the gulping thing. Kermit importer. Part of 1 of a 3 pack I was able to snag.

Simple and fresh, with red berry fruit, bubblegum, and some stem. The greenness is more pronounced on the palate with a slightly unusual vegetal/herbal note at the back end. Not as much acid as I’d like, but the finish is pretty substantial for a villages bottling.

Quite simple with raspberry jam dominating the show. Maybe a touch of secondary fermentation? I sensed the slightest prick of effervescence.
