From the “hard candy” school of Burgundy. Tight, inky; consumed over two days but never opened up. Still quite good, but one-dimensional. Seems like an attempt to make something more important than the raw material would support.

We drank the 1993 (the year we were married) for Valentine’s Day. it was amazing. The fruit and acidity were still there but surrounded by the earthiness you only get with a burgundy. This was my last and I am sad because it still has years to go
