Sipping Fine Wine

Owned by siblings Kimberly and Trent Jackson, inpsired by their father, David who purchased a 28-year old, dry-farmed Calistoga vineyard in 1995. Y3 grapes are sourced from different vineyards so the style and quality may differ from year to year. The ‘16 is Ruby with aromas red berry fruits and spice. On the palate very ripe fruit, cherry and strawberry flavors with vanilla notes, oak and earthy spice. Gripping dusty tannins on a nedium finish ending a bit savory. Good now but jury is out on any L-T aging

I️ don’t drink Pinot’s much, but I️ really like this one.

Decent, at best, as a pop & pour. Dried cherries and dark chocolate shavings, but still pretty hot and astringent. I'm sure with some time the rating will go up.

2015 doesn't show up in the ratings list; probably why it FB feels unfinished.

Heading north from Calistoga towards Knights' Valley you might notice an obscure mailbox to a small house tucked against the steeply rising hillside. If you blink it'll be missed. What is not to miss is the wines this family is producing. Every single wine, there's over a dozen, now boasts 90+ points.
This is a fun, delicious Pinot Noir off which I never tire.
A central theme of sturdy minerality surrounded by fresh fruit on one side, cherry/raspberry and soft, dried herbs on the other. A delicious dance of pure balance. Y3 is a great way to prepare the palate for an evening of sophisticated tasting. Enjoy!

Just a large fan of everything Jax produces. Amazing vineyard site in Calistoga, not open to public. This wine is sourced from RRV and GM Dan Parrott is quite gifted at vineyard sourcing. This is another small producer that's just a treasure. Enjoy!
