(Disgorged 1/19)- Always my favorite of the Lieux-Dits and without question one of the very best Blanc de Blancs Champagnes on the planet, it’s stunning tonight, rich, powerful and intense with crazy depth to its layers, unfurling in a Burgundy glass to reveal its complex core of rich orchard fruit, roasted nuts, gun smoke, old rum barrels and candied white flowers, all with seamless integration and balance. The palate is generous and detailed, with racy acids, waves of saline laced chalky Le Mesnil minerals and a finish that just keeps going. For me, the BdB benchmark.

My favorite Lieux dits stunning as always showing immense power, freshness, volume, vivid energy and seemingly infinite depth. Layer by layer it unfurls to flaunt its complex core of rich fruit, roasted nuts, gun smoke, toasty oak and waves of chalky Le Mesnil minerals. There is incredible detail, focus and an amazingly persistent saline infused finish. For me, the ultimate Blanc de Blancs 🧨

An ambitious wine made in a solera style where still wine has been set aside and blended with other vintages going back to 2004. It is a till wine through that progression and then bottled with a tirage to initiate the bubble creation from secondary fermentation. 100% Chardonnay from a single site in the Grand Cru Cote des Blancs village of Mesnil.
