1 person found it helpfulFeb 24th, 2020Rich mixed berry fruit aromas, soft and light but powerful on the palate with fruit, black peppery tannins, lingering minerals.
Pinot noir, cab franc, negrette, cab sauv.
A good post-half marathon wine 🍷

Jul 17th, 2021Houston we have a problem. She is way too ripe. I’m guessing the “frequent pump overs” led to over extraction. Surprising for a McCarrus wine.

Aug 19th, 2020Took a chance on this unusual red from Loire: unique varietal composition & bottle format, but delicious nonetheless! Fairly dark inky richly extracted w/concentrated aromas of red fruit literally up & down the spectrum: tart cherry, cranberry, ripe bing cherry (and sour cherry), some raspberry couli all mingled with white pepper, clay & subtle vein of minerality. I found it very complex & engaging if a bit disjointed when looking at interplay of acidity & tannins...

Nov 29th, 2019How do you rate an exceptionally fun wine that consists of Pinot Noir/Cab Franc/NĂ©grette/Gamay Noir? Easy! Start at nine points and work up. (A slight chill is highly recommended and it will match perfectly with whatever you're pulling from the grill. God bless the French.)
