Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon

91% CS, 9% Malbec.

I've been a fan from early on but think these guys have really been on a stride beginning with their 2012-vintage.

I re-visited this wine several times throughout the evening and didn't think it budged much (over 4+ hours) from my initial impression.
That should speak more to the quality (and age ability) of this wine than to my tastebuds and I would certainly love to taste it again in 5+ years as my rating then may seem quite conservative.

California Cab isn't usually my speed, but damn is this good. It's big, but the acid is high enough to keep everything in balance. Lots of dried flower aromatics

Grilled lamb was perfect with the wine. Make sure to decant.

Justin Meyer told me to concentrate on the one thing you really love because you can't be great at everything. Schramsberg = great sparkling wine.

Massive tannins! Big and Smokey. amazingly impressive.

This is yumma, but it’s not the cab sauv I expect and crave from heavy Napa area hitters. I wouldn’t buy this if I hadn’t received it with my Schramsberg club shipment. It’s not to say it’s not yummy. It is. But it’s legs just don’t compete with the complex, big personalities of stellar Napa caps.

Thought it was good. Maybe a little thin just didn't have the punch I was hoping for.

Dark cherries, earthy, oak and tobacco notes. Smooth and no tannins. Aerate for stronger fruit flavors, pour for earthy richness
